Memory Verse Prayer Guide
June 2018

This prayer guide is prepared each month to assist you in applying the current month’s memory verse.  You are encouraged to use it in small groups, Sunday school class and as individuals.

Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Acts 2:38

Repent and be baptized, every one of you

Heavenly Father, please open our hearts and change the direction of our lives.  We have been selfish and rebellious yet we desire to live our lives pleasing to you.  We choose to repent of everything in our lives that doesn’t reflect our Lord Jesus.  (Pause and pray silently for the forgiveness of your sins and a cleansing of your heart.

We are grateful for our baptism for it identifies us with Jesus and with the community of believers.  Draw us together as faithful disciples.   (Pause and pray silently for your church family naming at least two members by name.)

In the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins

We turn to You, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  We depend on you for forgiveness, mercy, guidance, and purpose.  We are humbled that we can come before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.  We thank you for loving us.  Amen.

And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

We receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  May the Spirit purify us that we may represent You in all areas of our lives.  Let us share this gift with the world around us.  Fill us daily with the Holy Spirit and enable us to speak with passion of your forgiveness, grace, and never-ending love.  Thank you Lord.  (Pause to pray silently someone who does not yet know God’s love in a personal way.)  Amen

Father, unleash the power of the Holy Spirit to bring spiritual breakthrough in my life, in our church family, and in our community.  Fill us with humility, unity, and passion.  Let your kingdom come and your will be done.  May the name of Jesus be held in high honor in all that we say and do.  Amen.
