Attention parents!  Our church will be presenting a Christmas Pageant on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
We are seeking kids from 1st through 6th grade to participate in the pageant.  Please have family members (grandparents especially) mark their calendars for this date at Marysville First U.M. Church.

There will be minimal speaking parts as the story is being narrated and the children will be acting it out.  We will have both humans and animal parts in this pageant. Costumes will be quite simple---we will need parents’ help in coming up with costumes and a few props for a simple set.

We will have two practices:

Practice #1 will be Sunday, November 18th at 11 a.m.- 12 noon (in the choir room by Sunday School classrooms)

Practice #2 will be Wednesday, November 28th at 6:30 p.m.- 7:45 in the choir room and then moving to the sanctuary).

Pre-K through Kindergarten children will be opening the program with two songs so they will be involved too.

Please email me at or text me at 614-580-0333 if your 1st – 6th grader would like to participate.  Please be sure your child can attend both practices and the pageant. We are excited to share the beautiful Christmas story with our church and community!

Blue Christmas Service

Sunday December 9th @ 6:00

(A service of remembrance and hope)

Dearly Beloved,

For many people, Christmas is a time of joy that is filled with gladness and merriment.  For those who have lost a loved one, it can be a time of brokenness and loneliness…..leaving one feeling distant from the joy of the season and rather “blue”.

Join us at Marysville First United Methodist Church for a special Blue Christmas Service on Sunday December 9th @ 6:00pm in the Sanctuary.  This service is specially designed to provide an intentional time of remembrance, hope, tenderness and encouragement.  The service will emphasize the light of Christ found in John 1:5 “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.”  As the service begins, dim lights will fill the sanctuary and a candle procession will bring a gentle light to the gathered community.  The songs, hymns and scripture will be designed to bring you into a time of reflection and continued healing.  It will be a set-apart time of beauty and hope.

We hope you and your family members will join us for this special service and receive the blessings God has prepared for you.

In His Grace & Love

The Pastoral Staff

The open church dialogue regarding the recommendations from the Worship Assessment Team will be held after each service on October 21 and NOT November 4th at 5:00. All are invited.

Please submit your letter to or to the church office by October 14, 2018.    Interviews will take place during October and November, and the nomination of new members to the Leadership Team will be given to the church conference on Monday, December 3.  All church members are encouraged to come and vote on the election of new members for the Leadership Team.

In 2017 our church adopted a new vision: To love God and all people for the transformation of the world. At that time, we also adopted four key strategies to bring about that vision. Those strategies are summarized in four words: Engage, Connect, Equip and Send. In the last 18 months, we have established a Connect Team, an Equip Team and a Send Team. The last team to be formed is our Engage Team. This was previously called an Evangelism Team. This team will be led by Pastor Aaron and will create opportunities for our church to engage with others outside the walls of the church. There will be an informational meeting about the Engage Team on Wednesday evening, October 10 at 7:00 pm. We will meet in the Courtyard. If you have a passion for seeing people come to know Christ or if you would like to be involved in outreach ministries, we invite you to attend. By attending this meeting you are not committing to serve on the team.

November 8th at 6:00pm will be our Bluegrass Kick off night. For this night the following will take place; free concert, free hot dogs, free popcorn and reduced preseason tickets that night only.

In October we are collecting chapstick and small Kleenex packages. A collection box is located in the BFLC coat room. If you miss a month, you can drop off that item any month. Contact Kathy Titmuss-Smith (937) 243-0192 with questions.
