Our Beliefs

The core of our beliefs come from two ancient texts. One from the Bible and one from the early church. Paul summarizes the core of our faith when he says:

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
(1 Corinthians 15:3-5)

Twice Paul uses the phrase, “according to the Scriptures.”

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God and therefore, are our authority.

We believe the Scriptures teach that all people are sinners and stand in need of grace that only God can provide.

We believe God provides grace through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross in which he paid the penalty for all sin.

We believe Jesus rose again on the third day and now invites us receive forgiveness of sins and to enjoy a loving relationship with him.

We believe spiritual transformation comes as we follow Christ on the road of discipleship.

The early church stated the core of belief in what is called the Apostles Creed. This creed explains a Trinitarian God manifested as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
